1. LOLLING CHAIR & OTTOMAN
Ergonomically shaped to support the curvature of your back and cushioned in thick leather-covered padding, the Lolling Chair and matching Ottoman provide the perfect resting place for hours of reading, television or just plain lolling. Both the back angle and head cushion are fully adjustable, although we suspect that once you've found your perfect setting, you may be less than charitable in letting others take your seat.

2. CHAISE
The Chaise takes its inspiration from furniture designs created by European architects in the 1920's and 1930's. Taking our cue from Alvar Aalto, we've replaced tubular steel with the warmth of natural cherry and mortise-and-tenon joinery. The sinuous cherry frame supports a webbed back, upholstered in full-grain leather. A removable headrest provides additional comfort, if desired. The two-position Chaise reclines fully without any handles or gadgets. Simply lean back and let gravity do the rest.

3. VITA BED
Taking good design down to the bones, the Vita Bed’s simplicity and curved footboard harken back to the Modernist era and the sleeping platforms common in Japan. Despite its delicate appearance, this bed’s loftiness defies its substantial mass. The curved, laminated feet—a Vita hallmark—suspend the mattress snugly in a remarkably strong solid cherry base.

4. HARPSWELL CHAIR WITH BACK
SPECIAL NOTE: We were honored on April 16, 2008 when President Bush and Pope Benedict XVI sat side-by-side in Harpswell Chairs with Back in Walnut during the official White House welcoming ceremony for the Pope. For the complete story, click here.

Contemporary lines. Warm wood grains. The Harpswell dining chairs are naturally beautiful in the truest sense, adding elegance to any room. The back crest is carved from a single piece of cherry to reveal a grain pattern that is unique to each piece, like nature's fingerprint. Well-padded backrests and seats can be upholstered in mohair or a wide variety of fabric coverings. We can also apply material supplied by you.

5. DR. WHITE'S CHEST
Named after the customer who first commissioned it over twenty years ago, the Dr. White's Chest has been built for many homes since. A combination of dovetail, miter, rabbet, lap and butt joints makes this the most demanding single piece of cabinetry we offer. With seven drawers and two cupboards with adjustable shelves, and a secret compartment for storing valuables, the Dr. White's can store a full wardrobe of clothes and sweaters.

6. PASADENA DINING CHAIR

The Pasadena Dining Chair was named "Best of Year" in 2008 for Product Design/Residential Dining Chair by Interior Design magazine...CLICK HERE FOR DETAILS.

A modern, geometric hourglass defines the telltale shape of the Pasadena Dining Chair, continuing the action set in motion by the Dining Table.

Only one flat plane exists on each chair, where the back and the seat joint are reinforced. Otherwise, they seem more carved than assembled. Their shapely legs are faceted and splayed to provide stability without bulk. The seats are wide and as comfortable as any solid wood dining chair could be without upholstery. The slender back of the Side Chair scrolls up from this strong foundation, using the least amount of material needed to comfortably support the sitter.

The Arm Chair has a central back splat to support its broader profile, and the Side Chair is available with or without a similar back.

As a whole, the Pasadena Dining Chairs enhance the space they inhabit, without overpowering it.

7. WING CHAIR & FOOTREST
The Wing Chair is poetry as furniture, marrying our hallmark aesthetics with true comfort. Tracing its lineage back to an 18th-century Queen Anne chair, we have sought to bring new relevance to old forms-successfully coaxing solid cherry into freestanding art. Shaped to cradle the sitter's spine, it would be comfortable in its own right, yet the addition of upholstery makes it luxurious. Carved cherry armrests gently fold over at just the right height and are polished smooth to the touch. Four-inch thick cushions are covered and welted in the fabric or leather of your choice. Your feet will nestle comfortably in the Footrest, curved end to end to support your legs, in harmony with the chair.

8. HIGH STOOL

As seen on This Old House.

AVAILABLE FOR IMMEDIATE DELIVERY - CLICK HERE FOR DETAILS

It's not often you can sink into a solid wood seat. We think the deeply contoured saddle makes this the most comfortable wooden stool ever made. The classic tractor seat shape, rendered in hand-polished cherry, is both inviting and beautiful. Ash legs are attached to the seat with wedged tenons for superior strength.

About Stool Heights
We offer three standard stool seat heights: 25" stools for counters about 36" high (standard kitchen counter height); 27" stools for 38" counters/bars; and 31" stools for a 42" bar height. If you require a custom height, please let us know.

9. NEW GLOUCESTER ROCKER

As seen on This Old House.

New Gloucester was home to our first shop, not far from the last remaining Shaker Community at Sabbathday Lake. This homage to the spare, graceful design found there will bring a place of serenity to your home. Ideally spaced to envelope the back in comfort, the ash spindles are joined to the back crest and sculpted cherry seat with wedged tenons, fitted at precise angles to allow both adequate flex and deceptive strength.

10. EDO DINING CHAIR
A wide, carved plank seat cossets the sitter in this chair. The gently carved crest echoes the illusory lines of the seat and apron, and reverse-tapered legs are cut with three facets to accentuate the play of light. The overall effect is a solid and versatile chair that outlines space with minimal visual effect, an exercise in optical refinement. The Dining Chair has a wide solid cherry back splat that is canted, shaped and polished to highlight its unique growth-ring pattern, emblematic of the passage of time and the trees from which this harmonious furniture is crafted.

11. EDO TRESTLE TABLE
Playing with opposites like light and shadow, space and substance, this table brings all to rest in one satisfying whole. A broad cherry surface nearly seven feet in length lies upon a unique trestle leg configuration, grounding the table without adding bulk. Splayed wedge feet contribute to the table’s remarkable stability. Four slatted legs converge at the bottom, allowing a parallelogram of air to visually float the table in space. Available in three sizes.

Two icons of American design, the contoured tractor seat and the chromed arch of a classic Harley-Davidson motorcycle seat back, are clearly visible in this Thos. Moser original. Like its forebears, the Bowback is a testament to uncluttered utility and simple comfort. Built to withstand generations of daily use, with flitch-cut cherry back and sculpted cherry seat. Ash legs and spindles are attached with wedged tenons for superior strength.

15. THOS. MOSER CONTINUOUS ARM CHAIR
AVAILABLE FOR IMMEDIATE DELIVERY - CLICK HERE FOR DETAILS

Our signature piece, the Continuous Arm Chair, remains a unique, trademarked Moser design. To form the arms eleven one-tenth-inch knife-cut slices of the same tree, called a flitch, are laminated together. Then each continuous arm is painstakingly rasped, filed and sanded to a perfect smoothness.

16. NEWPORT CHAIR

As seen on This Old House.

Six years in the making, the Newport Chair is a worthy heir to its early-American design heritage. In 1764, the Redwood Library in Newport purchased twelve low-backed Windsor chairs. They have been in near constant use ever since. None the worse for wear, their simple yet sturdy form inspired our own 21st-century edition. A refined workhorse of a chair-able to support 10-15 times its weight- it will happily endure the rigors of everyday life, growing more beautiful over time.

17. GEORGETOWN DOUBLE PEDESTAL EXTENSION TABLE
Available in a single or double pedestal version, this table has classic proportions supported by an innovative leg design. Grain-matched cherry legs are individually shaped to create eight facets that uniquely capture light and shadow. Each leg is reinforced with triangular wooden pieces, or splines, that are wedged into the mitered joints. The result is a distinguished table of uncommon strength and beauty.

18. CRESCENT FOUR AND SIX DRAWER BUREAUS
The Crescent Bureaus were originally inspired by a customer who desired a curved adaptation of our standard dresser. To create the bow shaped drawers of the Crescent series we have laminated together flitches of solid cherry rather than steam bending them. Their gentle curve is echoed in the lines of the top and in the serpentine carved base.

19. VITA CHAIR & OTTOMAN

As seen on This Old House.

The Vita Chair and Ottoman represent the evolution of our design ethos, merging the sentiments of modernism with the substance, grace, and tradition of solid cherry and leather. Our latest design pays tribute to master architect Mies van der Rohe, originator of the term "less is more", harnessing the natural strength of wood to achieve suspension and cantilever with minimal form. The curved back and tufted cushions echo a familiar silhouette, while the architecture of the base and the materials are something else entirely. A solid, matched-grain cherry back and seat are joined in an ergonomically curved frame. The seat and back cushions are meticulously hand stitched to ensure a sleek, tailored surface that is resoundingly comfortable.

20. ARIA CHAIR
At first glance, the hourglass lines of the Aria Chair evoke a more glamorous age when Old World design influences met a newly minted urbane American public. Upon closer examination, you’ll see that the Aria Collection has much in common with the soft patterns etched by the sea on a sandy shore: gentle ridges and undulating crescents that tease the eye with familiarity—perfect companion pieces for any furniture with a more rectilinear form.

The shell-like back of the Aria Chair is methodically crafted with hand-carved convex and concave curves. Each grain-matched stave is carved and attached to its mate with concealed alignment pins. The arms of the armchair connect with a floating tenon that merges flush with the back and seat. Unlike stacked and laminated furniture, the entire surface is seamless to the touch. Sophisticated tapered legs offer stability and strength while custom upholstery lends additional softness and texture.

21. EASTWARD CHAIR
Light ash contrasts with dark cherry. Curves meet faceted planes. When the afternoon sunlight casts shadows through the spindles of our Eastward Chair the effect can be breathtaking. The flexibility of the spindles makes this one of the most comfortable wooden chairs made.

22. HARPSWELL STOOL
To create the back crest of the Harpswell Stool, we begin with a three-inch-block of cherry, called a twelve-quarter by the lumber mills. As we carve into the block, swirling grain patterns emerge. Each crest is an individual canvas - no two are alike. When the seats are lined up together the effect is stunning. We've added our skill as joiners of wood, but nature has held the paintbrush.

About Stool Heights
We offer three standard stool seat heights: 25" stools for counters about 36" high (standard kitchen counter height); 27" stools for 38" counters/bars; and 31" stools for a 42" bar height. If you require a custom height, please let us know.

23. AMERICAN BUNGALOW DINING CHAIR
In adapting traditional Arts and Crafts forms, we wanted to achieve a lightness not found in the furniture popularized during the period. A gradual reverse tapering of the front legs gives weight to the bottom of these chairs while terminating gracefully at the top. This slight taper is echoed in the back design, which resembles a Wright-style stained-glass window. The armchair features a visible through joint on the armrest. Mortise-and-tenon joints are glued and pinned to ensure a secure fit for generations of use.
